This started as a speed painting, but it had a lot of challenges that made it too difficult for me to speed paint. That guitar, for one!
I ended up using it as a sandbox over the course of the last couple weeks in between other projects. I changed the lighting a few times, and repainted some of the tougher stuff a few times trying to figure out how it might look with my crazy invented lighting scheme which is completely different from the reference I used.
I'd wanted to try some new stuff, but I think it ended up looking a bit more like an overdone airbrushed painting than anything I'd hoped for Still, it was fun, and I practiced the ever-challenging male form, and paid homage to one of my new favorite rising stars.
The "David Cook Cheer-On" series:
I can't believe you painted this.
It's really good!
I never watched American Idol either, but this season, David Cook grabbed my attention, and I insantly became a fan of him.
I am so glad he is in the final two, and I hope he wins.
He is good looking for his age!! I really want to know how old he is.
I love this painting! Awesome!!
He's been my favorite since I first saw him appear, he's blown me away every week...oh and wow...I just saw the Mariah Carey week...he was fantastic
