This is a sketch I started 9-5-12 and liked enough to finish up and post.
I experimented a bit with using a monochrome color palette on this one. Since I usually like to pack at least 10 different colors into a painting, this definitely had a different feel to it. I also tried my hand at painting a monster, something I don't do too often.

I love this. It's very Frank Frazetta or other 80s fantasy artwork, which I am getting into. I like the color palette and the soft fade in the back like the creature and rider is coming out of a fog. Very strong character too.
